Three colorful pixel art dildos: pink, yellow, and blue, stand upright on a white background, creating a playful and vibrant look.

The NoFrillDos by Funkit Toys were the very first product we knew for sure that we wanted to stock in Biconic. A big reason we developed the concept for this shop is the fact that prior to 2021 the adult toy industry was largely unregulated. Most toys carried the disclaimer For Novelty Use Only and manufacturers often made them in materials that were porous: meaning that they could never be fully sterilised and would often harbour harmful micro-organisms like bacteria and yeast, which can continuously infect anyone who uses the toys.

Toys made from porous materials are still largely available, which is why we only use body-safe materials in our stock. We are aware that we exist in a largely sex-negative society where open, honest communication around sex is discouraged. This means that most of us aren’t aware of what makes something body-safe or not, and it can be difficult to find valid information about this. We trust retailers to know what’s best for us, which is why we want to live up to that trust and always prioritise your well-being.

And that is exactly why we are stocking the NoFrillDos! These are all made from 100% silicone which has been platinum cured so that the production process is quick and simple; resulting in fun but affordable designs that are safe to use in a variety of ways.  We’ve started with the R, G, and B: three mid-sized insertables in three different forms. All of them have a flared base, making them safe for anal insertion and also compatible for use with strap-on harnesses.

Like it says on the tin: these are NoFrillDos i.e. dildos with no frills. In order to keep production costs as low as possible, Kenton of FunKit Toys has made these as simple as possible while still creating some really pleasurable tools! And don’t take my word for it: Kenton has a list of reviews you can check out on the FunKit Toys’ website, many of which are by my favourite sex bloggers and educators.

This does mean that you can’t expect any extra functions like a suction cup base or dual density core, etc. However our first priority when considering stock was accessibility, and we hope that we’ve provided that for anyone looking for affordable, body-safe insertables.

Another reason we love the NoFrillDos is that they aren’t anatomical designs. While we recognise that many people enjoy “realistic” dildos for gender-play and affirmation, there are also people who avoid this due to preference and/or dysphoria. The NoFrillDos don’t really look like anything else and come in some decidedly fantastical colours, so they can be incorporated into your play in whichever way you want to!

To clean any of the NoFrilDos, you can simply run them under the tap and use some gentle soap before leaving to air dry. As silicone doesn’t harbour any bacteria this should be enough. But if you want to go the extra mile, NoFrillDos are safe to submerge in boiling water or, as some prefer, a diluted bleach solution (I personally use Milton to sterilise silicone toys that have been used anally).

The ability to fully sterilise these toys means that you can feel comfortable sharing them with partners, though you always have the option of placing a condom on top of them. Some people choose not to use silicone lubricant coated condoms with silicone toys, as the toy will slowly absorb the lubricant. For the same reason, most people prefer to use water-based lubricants with silicone toys, and we would recommend this to prevent as much friction as possible.
